3D Visual Development

A personal project to self teach 3D programs including ZBrush and Blender as an aid for concept work

Concept art of a Naiad. Naiad’s are from ancient Greek mythology, they are nymphs of different bodies of flowing water. After painting my concept art, I then learned ZBrush and created a model of the upper body.

I then exported the model to Blender, animated the turn, created the UV maps, and then painted the textures.

After, in this render I mixed two shaders from scratch to learn the process in Blender. The first shader I created. It created cast shadow on the model while getting rid of the ambient lighting. The intention was to make the 3D model as 2D as possible. The second shader was from Gumroad and provided a painterly effect that I then edited to the desired result. I then learned how to meld the two shaders to create the above effect.
